The AN/APG-79 AESA (active electronically scanned array) is a multi-mode fire-control radar based on the AN/APG-73 and built by Raytheon as a replacement for that system in the F/A-18E/F multirole fighter.
The APG-79 is specified for Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft. The APG-79(V)4 equips prior variants – F/A-18A/B/C/Ds.
