Pluton was a French tactical nuclear missile launched from a modified AMX-30 tank chassis, developed to replace the U.S. Honest John short-range ballistic missile in French service.
Carried in a large box launcher mounted on the top of the rear hull, the forward half of the Pluton system was exposed. The launcher was elevated for firing but did not traverse. A reloading crane elevated from the right front of the hull.
