The F21 is a heavyweight torpedo under development by France for its nuclear-powered submarines. It can also be launched from surface vessels. The weapon will replace the F17 Mod 2 torpedo now in service. It is designed to destroy both submarines and surface ships.
The F21 is a 21-in (533-mm) torpedo. It is 19 ft 8 in (6 m) long and weighs less than 3,300 lb (1,500 kg).
