The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Bomb (MOAB) (sometimes referred to as the "Mother of All Bombs") is a larger version of the BLU-82 Daisy Cutter, which was retired in 2008 (see "Variants," below, for more information).
The 21,000-lb (9,525-kg) bomb is pushed out the back of a C-130 cargo aircraft like its predecessor. It uses the KMU-593/B GPS/INS guidance system and is stabilized by a series of fixed wings and grid (lattice) fins. The GBU-43 is armed with an 18,700-lb (8,480-kg)...
