The CBU-71/B is a cluster bomb consisting of a SUU-30 dispenser loaded with baseball-sized BLU-68/B bomblets. The only difference between the CBU-58 and the CBU-71 is the bomblet fuzing.

The bomblets have both fragmentation and incendiary killing mechanisms, using two 5-g titanium pellets as an incendiary agent. Both killing mechanisms use the M224 time delay fuze for random detonation times after impact. The BLU-68/B option is for fragmentation only while the BLU-68A/B enables...
