The AGM-84E Standoff Land Attack Missile (SLAM) is a derivative of the AGM-84A Harpoon anti-ship missile designed to engage ships and land targets. SLAM is launched from carrier-based aircraft. The longer-range AGM-84H/K SLAM-ER, which entered service in 2000, at the time was the U.S. Navy's only standoff-outside-of-area-defense (SOAD) weapon and had the smallest circular error probable (CEP) of any weapon employed by the service.
