The AASM (armament air-sol modulaire, or modular air-to-ground munition), also known as the Hammer, is a guided-bomb kit developed by Sagem with multiple seeker packages. The AASM is equivalent to the U.S.-made Joint Direct Attack Munition. It is designed to be an affordable precision-guided munition that enables autonomous global positioning system/inertial navigation system (GPS/INS)-guided attacks with the option for more accurate person-in-the-loop terminal guidance.
