The Israeli Jericho surface-to-surface intermediate-range ballistic missile began development in the early 1960s in cooperation with France. After the 1967 French arms embargo against Israel, development was completed by Israel Aircraft Industries. Later versions include the longer-range and more accurate Jericho II and the much longer-range Jericho III.
