The U.S. M712 Copperhead cannon-launched guided projectile (CLGP) was a highly accurate, laser-guided projectile fired from standard 155-mm howitzers. It was the first "smart" artillery round ever deployed and was designed to defeat armor and point targets at ranges of up to 6,560 yd (6,000 m).
