The German Kormoran I is a "fire-and-forget" air-launched anti-ship missile. Development began in the mid-1960s as a joint project by Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm and Aerospatiale.
The Kormoran is based on a Nord Aviation upgrade of the French AS30 that was not produced. Testing began in 1970, with service introduction seven years later.
