The AS-9 Kyle (Kh-28) was a long-range anti-radar missile that began production in the Soviet Union in the mid-1960s to arm Yakovlev Yak-28 Brewer strike aircraft. Withdrawal of the Yak-28 from service left the missile to be fielded on the Su-17M2/M3 and later the Su-24. The missile was designed to destroy ground and shipborne radars.
