MICA

The French MICA (missile interception de combat airienne) is an ambitious attempt to combine the characteristics of long-, medium- and short-range (dogfighting) missiles in a single weapon.

It was designed to replace the medium-range Super 530 semi-active radar and short-range R550 Magic 2 IR missiles. The development program was a fusion of Matra's own efforts and the Italian Selenia Aspide Mk 2.
