The M74 is a bounding anti-personnel mine delivered by artillery or vehicle-based mine-launching system. It can be integrated with the Area Denial Artillery Munition (ADAM), which carries 36 M74 mines.

The mine is green, cylindrically shaped and made from thick-walled steel tubing. It has an internal safety and arming device, an electric assembly and a power supply.
