The German JPZ4-5 is a tank destroyer, occupying a position in the armored vehicle family somewhere between the main battle tank (MBT) and the armored reconnaissance vehicle (ARV) since it was first deployed in the mid-1960s. The JPZ4-5 is larger than a typical ARV and has a relatively powerful mai n gun, but it does not have a turret and has lighter armor than an MBT.
