The basic M1114 vehicle is produced by AM General and has been up-armored by O'Gara-Hess and Eisenhardt in Fairfield, Ohio. As with the M998A2 and M1113 High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), the armor has been upgraded to withstand 7.62-mm armor-piercing (AP) rounds, 12-lb anti-tank mines and 155-mm artillery airbursts.
