The BPZ 2 (Bergepanzer 2) is an armored recovery vehicle (ARV) based on the Leopard 1 main battle tank (MBT) chassis.

It can lift a vehicle weighing up to 22 tons (20,000 kg) and recover heavier vehicles. The BPZ 2 is designed for vehicle recovery, towing, changing vehicle components, dozing and refueling/defueling operations.

The dozer blade at the front of the hull can move 7,063 cubic ft (200 cubic m) per hour. A 38.6-ton (35,000-kg) capacity winch can be increased to 77 tons...
