The BPZ 2 (Bergepanzer 2) is an armored recovery vehicle (ARV) based on the Leopard 1 main battle tank (MBT) chassis.
It can lift a vehicle weighing up to 22 tons (20,000 kg) and recover heavier vehicles. The BPZ 2 is designed for vehicle recovery, towing, changing vehicle components, dozing and refueling/defueling operations.
