The Wiesel is an air-transportable, tracked, armored weapons carrier.

The small, lightly armored vehicle has a sharply sloped glacis plate, straight roofline and sponsoned sides. The hull is of all-welded steel construction, providing protection against shell splinters and 7.62-mm rounds.
