The lightest of the several military reconnaissance vehicles in the French army, the 4 x 4 Panhard VBL (Vehicule Blinde Leger) fulfills a number of requirements.

One variant is a scout car armed with machine guns, while another is an anti-tank vehicle carrying a Euromissile Milan anti-tank guided missile launcher and six missiles.
