The original Sarsar-1 and follow-on Sarsar-2 are officially considered 4 x 4 light reconnaissance vehicles but are essentially light armored personnel carriers (APCs) or protected patrol vehicles.
The vehicles, built domestically in Sudan, are based on a Kia chassis, which the Military Industry Corp. (MIC) is licensed to manufacture.
