The RG-12 is a 4 x 4 armored vehicle designed for internal security, paramilitary and peacekeeping missions. It has an all-steel, welded armor and monocoque hull, making it resistant to small-arms fire up to 7.62 mm and grenades.

In standard configuration, the vehicle has NATO Standard Agreement (STANAG) Level 1 protection. STANAG Level 2 is available as an option. The RG-12 is not mine-protected.
