The MARS 15 was a series of light, tracked, armored vehicles that shared a common chassis. The rear of the vehicle was designed to fit a variety of weapons and vehicle designs. The family was developed as a successor to the AMX-13 series of vehicles for the export market. The armored infantry fighting vehicle (AIFV) had a Creusot-Loire Industries (CLI) T25 turret with a McDonnell Douglas Helicopter 25-mm M242 chain gun.
