The Cougar is a family of medium mine-protected vehicles. It is also known as the Cougar Joint Explosive Ordnance Rapid Response Vehicle (JERRV). The Cougar comes in a 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 design. The Cougar can be configured for a wide range of tasks including troop transport (up to 14 in the 6 x 6); explosive ordnance disposal (four troops and a large explosive ordnance robot in the 4 x 4); command and control; artillery prime mover or recovery; and ambulance duty.
