The Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) is a turretless variant of the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. It is being procured by the U.S. Army as a replacement for M113 armored personnel carriers in its armored brigade combat teams. The AMPV provides increased survivability and the capability to keep pace with modern armored formations. Approximately 60-70 percent of the AMPV's parts are common with existing Army vehicles.
