The LeFlaSys light mechanized short-range air defense (SHORAD) system consists of three different vehicle types: the Ozelot weapon platform; the platoon command post vehicle; and the battery command-post vehicle. Each vehicle is based on the chassis of a German Wiesel 2 multipurpose carrier (see separate record). The name is derived from Leichtes Flugabwehrsystem, or light air defense system.
