Israel-based Soltam Systems designed the 155-mm towed independent gun (TIG) for use by the Israeli military. The TIG 2000 system is carriage-mounted, allowing it to be easily moved into operational position. Once on the battlefield, TIG becomes self-propelled, utilizing its own diesel engine and hy draulically driven wheels. Using this system, changing position by several hundred yards requires only a matter of minutes.
