The 155-mm/39-caliber M-71 rifled gun/howitzer is a development of the 155-mm M-68 gun/howitzer, having a longer barrel and an air-driven rammer that permits rapid loading at various elevations. The compressed air cylinder is mounted on the right trail and is rechargeable.
