The M102 105-mm howitzer is a lightweight weapon used by U.S. airmobile and airborne divisions. It replaced the M101 in those units, and in turn is in being replaced by the British-produced Light Gun.

The M102 features several improvements over the M101, such as longer range, lighter weight, prominent underslung equilabrators and a deep-section aluminum box trail that is joined at the rear. A roller at the rear of the trial allows the weapon to be traversed 360 degrees.
