The 155-mm G6 howitzer is a modified 6 x 6, self-propelled version of the G5 towed howitzer. The G6 was one of the first Western self-propelled guns to use a wheeled chassis rather than a tracked vehicle. The baseline variant is also known as the G6 45. The system is designated the GV6 Rhino in South African service.
