The British Mk 6 3-in (76.2-mm) dual-purpose twin gun mount. The Mk 6 is mounted forward with those ships having two gun mounts mounting a U.S. Mk 33 3-in twin mount aft.
The Mk 6 is an automatic mount that is usually controlled remotely by the SPG-48 fire control radar. Local control is possible, but the mount is typically unmanned. The guns are water-cooled, permitting a relatively high rate of fire.
