4.2-in (107-mm) M30 Towed

The M30 4.2-in (107-mm) rifled mortar is a large muzzle-loading weapon.

M2 60-mm mortar, and was in turn replaced in U.S. service by the M120 120-mm mortar system.

The M30 was developed from the U.S. 4.2-in chemical mortars of World War II, which were developed specifically to fire chemical munitions.

The M30 fires M3, M329 high-explosive (HE), M2 chemical, M335 illuminating and smoke projectiles. A guided anti-mechanized mortar projectile (GAMP) is under development.
