120-mm Spear

The Spear is a 120-mm autonomous soft-recoil mortar system designed for light, wheeled platforms. The vehicle-mounted mortar provides effective fire support through the flexibility and accuracy of mortar fire and exceptional tactical mobility, according to Elbit Systems, the manufacturer of the mortar.

The weapon is derived from the combat-proven Cardom soft-recoil mortar that is muzzle-loaded and mounted on a turntable. The recoil system reduces the barrel's firing loads from 120...
