The 120-mm self-propelled mortar was developed by S&T Dynamics and Hanwha Defense for the South Korean army to replace its aging 107-mm M30 self-propelled mortar. The system employs the KM120 automatic mortar from S&T Dynamics integrated with the K200A1 tracked armored vehicle from Hanwha Defense.

The vehicle accommodates a crew of four: the driver and three personnel to operate the mortar.
