The ZPT-98 is a 125-mm smoothbore cannon developed by China for its latest Type 99 main battle tanks. It has also been integrated with the VT-4 tank, based on the Type 99 and developed by China for export.

The cannon is stabilized in two axes and features a carousel-type autoloader of the same type as in the Russian T-72. It is said to enable a rate of fire of eight rounds per minute. The autoloader can carry 22 125-mm rounds.
