No other combat vehicle main armament has been used in as many different main battle tank (MBT) designs as the British L7 105-mm rifled tank gun. The L7 was developed for the Centurion tank and derived from the earlier 20-pounder (83.4-mm) gun.
The gun is highly regarded for its accuracy and reliability. Barrel life is 200 effective full charge (EFC) rounds for the basic gun, 800 EFC with additives.
