The Hitrole is a one-man, electrically power-operated turret designed for both wheeled and tracked light vehicles. It is equipped with either a 7.62-mm or 12.7-mm machine gun. It also features an under-armor control system.
The “role” in the name refers to “remote overhead, light electrical.”
The traversing support is external to the vehicle's roof. The control system is located inside the crew compartment and is unaffected by gun movements in azimuth and elevation.
