The THL 20 and THL 30 make up a family of turrets designed for integration with helicopters. The THL 30 was designed first for France's Tiger attack helicopters.

The THL 20 is a lightweight, 20-mm variant of the 30-mm THL 30. It is intended to provide standard helicopters with a close air support capability, as well as anti-aircraft self-defense.
