The GAU-19/A GECAL Gatling gun is a .50-cal (12.7-mm), three- or six-barrel weapon. An early development objective was a GAU-19 in a composite chin turret for the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor. The weapon requirement for that aircraft was dropped in 1985.
