The de Havilland (later Hawker Siddeley) Heron was a light utility and communications aircraft originally built as a commercial feederliner. The Royal Navy used several Herons and Sea Herons for liaison and Sri Lankan Herons have been pressed into service as maritime patrol aircraft.
