The Indian HT-2 all-metal primary trainer was the first powered aircraft to be designed and built in India.
The design resembled the Canadian DHC-1 Chipmunk with its inverted in-line engine, two-blade propeller, greenhouse canopy over tandem seats, and fixed taildragger gear with the main struts set directly below the leading edge of the wing.
