The KC-10 Extender is a military version of the Boeing (formerly McDonnell Douglas) DC-10 "wide-body" civil air freighter. It is in service with the U.S. Air Mobility Command (AMC). Configured for use as a tanker and cargo aircraft, it differs from the civil versions mainly in the communications and avionics suite, reinforced flooring and refueling equipment.
