The Miniature SAR (MiSAR) was a 9 lb (3.95 kg) frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) sensor intended for use on uncrewed aerial vehicles.
The MiSAR used a 35 GHz carrier frequency.
The radar used 1 W continuous wave transmitter and receiver horn antennas. Radar output came from a solid-state amplifier. The antennas were mounted on a stabilized gimbal, which compensated for wind, airflow and turbulence.
Data processing was accomplished with an associated ground station.
