The Mantis was a medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) demonstrator developed by BAE Systems. It was the company's first all-electric aircraft and designed to be broken down to fit into military transport aircraft. It did not enter service.
The first phase of the Mantis program was jointly funded by BAE Systems and the U.K. Ministry of Defense. This focused on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and uncrewed strike capabilities....
