The BQM-167 Skeeter is a subscale aerial target initially developed for the U.S. Air Force to replace its MQM-107 targets. It is used by the Air Force to test and evaluate new weapon systems and to train pilots in air-to-air combat.
The air vehicle is constructed from carbon fiber and epoxy-based materials. The composite materials provide significant increases in performance and endurance compared to previous targets, which were built primarily of aluminum.
