The Legacy family of business jets have been designed by Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer to meet a range of civilian requirements. Some models are in military service for VIP transport and navigational aid missions.
The aircraft has a circular cross-section fuselage, rear-mounted high bypass ratio engines, low-mounted swept wings and a T-tailplane. The wings have a two-spar design with a third spar to support landing gear. The wing leading edges are made from aluminum.
