The U.S. Navy's EC-24A was a converted DC-8-50 civil airliner used to simulate enemy electronic warfare (EW) aircraft in naval training exercises.
The airframe was conventional for a long-range civil airliner, featuring a swept, slightly dihedral wing set low at mid-fuselage, four turbofan engine nacelles on underwing pylons, a slightly swept single tailfin set above the more sharply swept tailplanes and retractable tricycle landing gear.
