The US101 medium lift helicopter (MLH) is designed as a U.S.-built combat-ready version of the AgustaWestland EH101 . When the project was announced in October 2001, Lockheed Martin and AgustaWestland touted the helicopter as being immediately available, off the shelf.
Bell is partnered with AgustaWestland to manufacture the aircraft, while Lockheed Martin integrates the various systems and serves as the primary American contractor.
