The French-built H125 Ecureuil (Squirrel), primarily intended for civil use, has been adopted for military service by several countries, although not initially by France. A light multi-role helicopter, the Ecureuil is used for VIP transport, utility, training, scout, anti-tank and anti-ship missions.
The AS 350 Ecureuil has been redesignated as the H125 under the new Airbus Helicopters nomenclature.
