The Do 228 is a German utility cargo/transport with both civil and military applications. It has been adapted for service in a maritime patrol role.

The Do 228's distinctive, high-mounted "bird-wing" has a rectangular center section, outer panels with eight degrees of leading edge sweep and raked tips.
