The Buffalo is a twin-turboprop short-takeoff-and-landing (STOL) tactical transport derived from the earlier DHC-4 Caribou (see separate database entry), with which it shares the same general layout. The Buffalo, as was the Caribou, was developed by De Havilland of Canada in response to U.S. and Canadian army requirements.
