The Convair CV-440 was the last in a series of twin-engine commercial transports built in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The CV-440 was longer than the earlier CV-240, had a greater wing span, lower cabin noise, more powerful engines and a weather radar in a nose-mounted radome.
